Experience the Wolfdog Sanctuary at Your Own Pace
Visit the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary and discover the unique characteristics of wolfdogs in a peaceful, educational environment. This self-guided experience allows you to explore the sanctuary at your own pace while observing the wolfdogs from outside their enclosures.
Walk along the sanctuary pathways, learn fascinating facts from educational signs, and enjoy opportunities to photograph these remarkable animals in their surroundings.
What to Expect
During your visit, you can explore the sanctuary’s walking paths, observe different wolfdog packs, and learn about wolf behaviour, wolfdog characteristics, and conservation efforts.
You may also attend the sanctuary’s scheduled Wolfdog Wisdom Sessions, which feature educational talks and enrichment activities. These sessions are offered at 11:30 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 3:00 PM, subject to the sanctuary’s schedule.
Important Information
This is a self-guided admission experience. Direct interaction with or touching the wolfdogs is not included.
Visitors must be at least 6 years old. The experience takes place outdoors in changing weather conditions, so weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Please note: Transportation to and from the sanctuary is not included. Guests should arrange their own transportation unless a separate transfer is confirmed with Hawkspire Journeys.

- Minimum age: 6 years.
- Approximate visit duration: 1 hour.
- Operating days: Thursday through Monday, subject to availability.
- The sanctuary is generally closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Opening hours are generally 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM; verify the schedule before visiting.
- The walk is primarily outdoors and operates in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
- Large purses and backpacks may be restricted.
- Do not bring personal pets to the sanctuary.
- Smoking is not permitted on sanctuary grounds.
- Direct contact with wolfdogs is not included in this experience.
- Visitors must follow all sanctuary staff instructions.

Minimum Booking Requirement & Group Pricing
Minimum Booking: 5 Passengers
A minimum of 5 passengers is required for each trip to proceed at the advertised group rate.
Group Price: CAD $90 per person for a minimum group of 5 passengers.
